Looking for things to do in and around New Bern this summer?

Looking for things to do in and around New Bern this summer?

Here's a few ideas to get you started. June 23rd-26th will see Bridgeton hold it's 1st annual Riverfest Fine Art Show. This will occur at the same time as the 2011 National Championship for San Juan brand racing boats to be held right here on the Neuse River. You can watch the regatta, meet the racers and go to the Awards ceremony. It should be a fun weekend.

In July, The Bear City Opry will be held at the Masonic Theater on the 2nd at 6pm. This is great entertainment for the whole family. The 4th of July will feature a Christian concert at Lawson Creek Park, a 19th Century Town Celebration at Academy Greens, a Parade in Riverbend, a Celebration of the Declaration at Tryon Palace and all day festivities at Union Point Park followed by fireworks that night. On the 8th of July there will be an Art walk in downtown New Bern and on the 29th and 30th the Riverfront Convention Center will host the 2nd Annual Brew Bern Beer Festival.

That's just a few of the activities planned for this summer. For more information log on to http://www.newbernnow.com/ . You may just be surprised at how much there is to see and do in New Bern.
